Dimas Delgado

Dimas Delgado is a Spanish midfielder who plays for Bengaluru FC in the Indian Super League. 36 years of age, Dimas started his career from Gramenet and moved on to the Barcelona reserve team in 2006. He joined Bengaluru FC in 2017 and has been a solid presence in the midfield area ever since, with the team topping the ISL Points Table last season. Delgado is known for his ability to hold the ball in a pressure situation as well as distribute it skillfully across the pitch.

A part of Bengaluru FC’s winning squad, Dimas was hailed for being a pillar in his defensive duties as well. It will be exciting to see how this star midfielder fares for the club this season.

Rowllin Borges

Rowllin Borges is an Indian defensive midfielder who plays for the national side as well as ISL Club Mumbai City FC. The club has signed him from NorthEast United for the 2019-20 season, keeping in mind his performances for his club last season. 

Borges started his career from Sporting Clube de Goa in the I-League and moved to NorthEast United in 2016. He had a wobbly start to his career here and was loaned out the following season. Returning back for the Highlanders in 2018, Borges left a deep impact, helping his team reach the semi-finals, scoring 4 goals along the way. It will certainly be interesting to see how he does for his new club this season.

Fredrico Gallego

Fredrico Gallego is a Uruguayan professional football player who plays as a midfielder for NorthEast United FC in the ISL. This 29-year-old playmaker started his career at Sud America and slowly moved his way to Boston River in 2017. He was loaned out in 2018 to the ISL club. 

Gallego’s 2018-19 season was phenomenal for the Highlanders in which he scored 4 times and contributed 5 times with his ability to assist for a goal. With him, in mid-field, the NorthEast United attackers could focus on finishing. This reaped benefits, with the club reaching the semi-finals of the ISL.

Paulo Machado

Paulo Machado is a Portuguese midfielder who plays for Mumbai City FC in the ISL. This former Portuguese international started his youth career from Porto and has played for several big clubs in world football, namely, Toulouse, Olympiacos, Dinamo Zagreb and Aves before coming to India in 2018. 

Machado had a strong presence in the Mumbai City line-up and assisted 4 goals in the 20 games he played. He also scored twice in these many games. This crafty magician from Portugal will be looking forward to the new season of the ISL as a wonderful opportunity to showcase his talent as well as take his team to the playoffs.

Anirudh Thapa

Just 21 years of age, Anirudh Thapa, a footballer from India features in the top 5  midfielders in the ISL. This has been made possible only because of the immense talent and growth he has shown on the pitch, over the years. A player for Chennaiyin FC as well as the Indian national team, Thapa has consolidated his place in the playing 11 with consistent performances and excellent ball control. 

In the 18 games, Thapa played last year, he was on the pitch for a total of 1298 minutes. He had an impressive passing accuracy of 75.39% with 756 passes. Thapa also showed his defensive ability with 29 interceptions, 18 clearances and 22 blocks. How this young talent from Dehradun performs this year, will be closely watched by fans as well as football pundits.
